Southern Trilogy Holiday Events

The City of Roswell’s Southern Trilogy is set to celebrate the holiday season with a lineup of events that are sure to delight. Mark your calendar for these exciting holiday happenings at Barrington Hall, Bulloch Hall and Smith Plantation.

Select events include:

  • Twisted Tinsel Holiday Extravaganza
    Taking place on December 3 at all three homes, this event features wacky winter activities and games such as candy cane limbo, ornament races, an ugliest holiday sweater contest and more.
  • Holiday Cooking Class at Barrington Hall
    Students will learn how to prepare Christmas Brunch with Chef Wendy Gay on December 6. Featured items include pannettone bread pudding, rice stuffing with bacon, and upside-down apple French toast.
  • Christmas High Teas at Bulloch Hall
    Relax and enjoy a wonderful afternoon as ladies in period dress serve a two-course high tea at Bulloch Hall. Events take place on December 1, 6, 8, and 13.
  • Cookies with Mrs. Claus at Barrington Hall
    Children begin by writing letter to Santa while Mrs. Claus. Then, with assistance from Mrs. Claus and her helpers, children decorate cookies with seasonal icings and decorations. Events on December 17 and 19.
  • A Christmas Carol at Bulloch Hall
    This holiday classic returns to the Bulloch Hall stage this season, featuring Brink Miller as Scrooge. Performances take place on various dates between December 8-18.
  • 1853 Wedding of Mittie Bulloch to Theodore Roosevelt, Sr. 
    Bulloch Hall presents a living history event. Be a “guest” at the 1853 wedding of Mittie Bulloch to Theodore Roosevelt Sr. where the spirit of romance is created through drama with historical accuracy. This memorable evening takes place on December 22.

In addition to holiday events, each historic home is thematically decorated for the season and visitors are invited to tour the homes. Holiday exhibits include: 

  • “Image of Christmas” at Smith Plantation – This year’s exhibit showcases reminders of Christmas traditions from years gone by, including the finished restoration of the home’s dining room the way it appeared from 1940-1999.

  • “Here Comes Santa Claus” at Barrington Hall – This festive exhibit will feature multiple depictions of Santa Claus as he has appeared throughout the years.
  • “The Life of President Theodore Roosevelt” at Bulloch Hall – Experience the important role Roosevelt played in starting the National Park Service 100 years ago with this exhibit displaying many of the country’s most famous national parks.

Reservations are required for certain events.
