3rd Annual Southern Sweets Pound Cake Cook-Off

The City of Roswell will host the third annual Southern Sweets Pound Cake Cook-Off on Saturday, February 25, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the East Roswell Recreation Center as part of Roswell Roots: A Festival of Black History and Culture. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

Guests are invited to taste pound cake and vote for their favorite entry. Competitor categories include professional, amateur, youth, and healthy. First and second place will be awarded in each category as chosen by a panel of judges. A People’s Choice Award will also be given to the participant with the most votes from guests.

Roswell Roots: A Festival of Black History and Culture is one of the largest and most comprehensive celebrations of black history and culture in the Southeast. This year there will be 23 different events throughout the month of February, ranging from music and art exhibitions to demonstrations and poetry. The festival continues to grow and was honored with the “Gold Award for Best Cultural Event” by the Southeast Festival and Events Association in 2014.
