Goulding Place Construction to Begin Mid-February

The City of Roswell Water and Storm Water Divisions are beginning a new permeable paver project on Goulding Place that will improve water quality and enhance storm water drainage. The permeable pavers project will begin on the east end of Goulding Place near Canton Street and extend 650 feet west down the street.

The contractor is scheduled to begin preliminary work activities on or about Feb. 16. There will be some limited tree removal and roadway shoulder clearing on Goulding Place. The contractor plans to begin utility work the week of Feb. 20, including moving water services. It is anticipated water service to homes may be briefly interrupted. The contractor will notify affected homeowners in advance and will attempt to schedule any needed disruptions during off-peak times. While utility work is underway, a travel lane will be open for vehicles and residents to navigate around construction.

On or about March 1, the contractor will begin demolition of the road-way, starting on the east end near Canton Street. Goulding Place will be closed to thru traffic for several weeks at the Canton Street intersection. Traffic on Canton Street will not be affected. The contractor will have a detour in place to help residents navigate to Thompson Place via Windy Pines Trail, allowing access to Canton Street by vehicle.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of May 2017.
