Roswell Mayor and Council Discuss Options for East Roswell Revitalization

Prompted by recent concerns from residents and business owners about the need for revitalization along the Holcomb Bridge Road Corridor on the east side of Roswell, the City’s Mayor and Council have taken the first steps in researching a redevelopment strategy. At the Feb. 14, 2017, Committee Meeting, Mayor and Council directed City staff to develop a draft scope of work and provide information about the tools and resources available for an economic development analysis and a redevelopment strategy study for the corridor.

City staff will present their findings to Mayor and Council at the March 14, 2017, Committee Meeting, beginning at 5 p.m. in City Hall, Room 220. Staff will also develop the format for City-sponsored Charrettes, a series of collaborative planning sessions that will bring the public, City officials and staff, and designers and developers together to define their vision for the corridor.

Roswell’s Mayor and Councilmembers held two town hall meetings in East Roswell in February to begin a conversation with residents concerning the revitalization and redevelopment of commercial properties on Roswell’s eastside.

The City invites Roswell residents and business owners to share their ideas via East Roswell Vision Survey, which will remain active through the end of February, at www.roswellgov.com/EastRoswellSurvey.
