Apply for Roswell's Next Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program

The City of Roswell’s Fire Department is accepting applications from residents who are interested in becoming part of the City’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), a volunteer group of trained community members who will be integrated into emergency response efforts in their area.

The CERT program educates participants about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. This training will allow CERT members to assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members will also be encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.

The CERT program consists of ten classes held at Roswell Alpharetta Public Safety Training Center, 11565 Maxwell Road. Classes will take place on Thursdays from 7:00-9:30 p.m., beginning Sep. 7. The program is open to Roswell residents only.

Residents who are interested in becoming a CERT member should contact Chris Cooper at ccooper@roswellgov.com for instructions on the registration process.
