Notice of Property Tax Increase

Approved Millage Rate

The Mayor and Council of the City of Roswell have adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 0.94 percent.

This increase will result in a millage rate of 5.055 mills, an increase of 0.047 mills. Without this tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 5.008 mills. The tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $5.64 and the tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $550,000 is approximately $10.34.

Public Hearings

All concerned citizens were invited to the public hearings on this tax increase that were held at the City of Roswell Council Chambers, City Hall, 38 Hill Street, Roswell, Georgia, 30075, on the following dates and times:
  • May 9, 2016 – 7 PM
  • May 16, 2016 – 6:30 PM
  • May 23, 2016 – 7 PM

Tax Increase Explanation

The City is estimating a slight increase in property values that may result in additional property tax revenue. Actual changes in property values will not be available until the City receives the official property digest from the Fulton County Tax Commissioner in July 2016. The City’s total property tax rate has remained the same since FY 2009.
