Garbage - Large Items - City Code Chapter 24.2.4 (b)

Pick-up of large or oversized items may be arranged in advanced by purchasing a sticker and scheduling a pick-up time. A sticker may be purchased at in the Public Works Department in City Hall at 38 Hill Street in Suite 235. For information on obtaining a sticker, call 770-641-3961 or 770-641-3715. A nuisance fee will be applied to the resident’s utility bill for large items placed without a sticker.

Garbage - Placement - City Code Chapter 24.2.5

All garbage must be placed in approved containers (maximum of three). Containers may be placed at the curb after 6:00 pm the day before collection and must be removed by the end of collection day. City crews will not handle any building materials or refuse from any remodeling, repair, or landscape work. The contractor or the property owner must remove all such waste.

Garbage - Yard Waste - City Code Chapter 24.2.7

Yard Waste—Preparation and Placement for Collection

Yard waste shall be collected by the city approved contractor on days established by the mayor and city council; provided, that at no time shall trash be placed in such a manner as to obstruct gutters, drains, walkways or streets. Tree limbs and branches which exceed four (4) feet in length or six (6) inches in diameter will not be picked up by contractor’s crews.

Routine weekly collection will include up to twelve (12) thirty-gallon Kraft paper sacks or their equivalent in containerized yard waste material, or up to two (2) cubic yards of loose limbs and branches or an equivalent total. Pickup of quantities in excess of this amount can be arranged by contacting the city contractor and paying the appropriate fee. Fee schedule for excess yard waste pickup will be maintained on file in the utility billing office of the finance department.
