The City of Roswell is part of the 15-County Metro North Georgia Planning District (MNGWPD). As part of these requirements, along with the Clean Water Act regulation for the NPDES Phase I Permit, the City is required to undertake certain activities each year to protect our streams.

Active watershed management efforts include:
  • mitigating the water quality and quantity impacts resulting from increased stormwater runoff associated with land use changes;
  • Addressing the impaired streams in Roswell that fail to meet State water quality standards, primarily due to the effects of stormwater runoff and nonpoint source pollution;
  • Educating the City’s residents on the need for good stewardship of our limited water resources; and
  • Need for a regional approach to stormwater and watershed management.
