On the west side of SR 400, the new roadway will begin at Big Creek Parkway and extend northward to Mansell Road, connecting to Mansell Road at either David Drive or Duke Drive. On the east side of SR 400, the new roadway will begin at the intersection of Big Creek Parkway and Old Alabama Road and extend northward to Mansell Road, connecting at North Point Parkway. The road design will include two 11-foot travel lanes (one in each direction), an 11-foot median, as well as bicycle lanes and six-foot sidewalks on both sides of the road.
Some of the benefits include: traffic congestion relief on Holcomb Bridge Road at SR 400; a north-south alternative to SR 400; improved local access and circulation; and provide quality facilities for bicycles and pedestrians, including children.
