Riverwalk: Postcards from the American South
Featuring Joseph E. Reed, Mark Williams, and Ross and Teresa Friedman
April 23, 2023, 1:30 - 3:30 PM
Free and open to the public at the Roswell Riverwalk Boardwalk

Step under the canopy of trees, follow the boardwalk over the river, and travel back in time to the sounds of American roots music - Folk, Blues, Jazz, and Country. Experience the river and scenery, and listen to melodies like those that echoed along the shores a hundred years ago. These are free events for all those who frequent the Riverwalk and for those first-timers looking to tour one of Roswell's most beautiful and unique features.

Roswell Riverwalk is a multi-purpose greenway that parallels the Chattahoochee River, and is part of the overall Riverwalk that runs across Bull Sluice Lake from Azalea Drive to Willeo Road.

With a B.A. in Music from Colorado State University, Joseph E. Reed has become a recognized musician, teacher, published author, and spoken word artist. He is an accomplished entertainer, singer, and musician, skilled on guitar, violin, ukulele, and piano. Mark Williams has been playing violin since he was four years old. He has studied internationally and holds a degree in Applied Violin from West Virginia University. Mark has played with many groups, including WVU Symphony, Baylor Symphony, and a Concertmaster for Pittsburgh Youth Symphony. He loves all styles of music and enjoys teaching and collaborating on new work. Local musicians, Ross and Teresa Friedman, have been playing music together since the day they first met in the 1970s. They enjoy playing traditional folk songs and music from the '60s and '70s with friends and family. They perform for various community events, including farmer's markets, retirement homes, and private parties. In their spare time, they enjoy playing music in parks for kids and their parents, finding joy while inspiring smiles, dancing and a thumbs up or two!

This event offers a series of site-specific mini-concerts, where audience members travel the boardwalk to hear the performers play in different locations, so put on your walking shoes, bring your family (let the dog stretch their legs too!), or just stop by and say hello to the staff and artists at this family-friendly event! This event is accessible to those patrons with walkers and in wheelchairs too.

Parking is available in the clearly marked lots along Azalea and Willeo Road. Come early to secure spaces closest to the event!
