Responsibilities
The Community Risk Reduction Division is responsible for the fire prevention activities and administrative functions of the Department.
Fire Prevention
Fire prevention consists primarily of two activities: code enforcement and fire safety education. Code enforcement involves inspections, plan review, issuing permits, processing complaints, fire hydrant maintenance, and fire / arson investigations. Fire safety education and public relations are a main thrust in the delivery of fire prevention programs.
Administrative Functions
The administrative functions of this Division are responsible for providing support for the Division and the entire Fire Department. Data entry, processing information, and communications are a few of the administrative functions that the Community Risk Reduction Division carries out.
