Watch for Signs of Drowsiness
You will know you are becoming drowsy if:
  • Your eyes feel sore and heavy
  • You begin daydreaming
  • You become impatient
  • You feel hungry or thirsty
  • Your hands feel sweaty
  • Your reactions seem slow
  • You feel stiff or cramped
  • Your speed creeps up or down
  • You start making poor gear changes
  • You wander over the center line or onto the road edge
  • You feel a droning or humming in your ears

Plan Your Trip
There is only one way to combat fatigue, and that is to:
  • Get a good night's sleep
  • Take regular rest stops
  • Share the driving and stay somewhere overnight on long journeys
  • Try not to travel more than 10-12 hours a day
